It used to be a minibus with 17 seats. Now it’s a mobile wood cabin, with complete water, electrical, and gas systems — everything required to live comfortably off the grid full time. It looks like a cheap old van from outside, but the interior has been optimised to the max: there’s a bathroom, an office, and even a bike shed full of tools.
It took me one year to design and build (evenings and weekends) and the whole project cost less than €9,000. This was my first major construction project; an insanely fun and challenging learning experience. If you’re interested in the details (design and technical), read this (PDF, 4mb).
